Braces are everywhere in the Philippines and very popular. Braces can average between 20,000 pesos up to 120,000p. This is equivalent of between $360 US and up to $2250 US.
The major difference is location. The higher priced dentists will be in shopping malls. Independent dentists seem to be more fair in pricing. Always check the reviews on the Dentist you're choosing.
Also, girls have two reasons for getting braces.
To straighten teeth and the other reason is purely for cosmetic reasons only. Some pretty girls know that braces can attract men especially foreigners which gives the girls a more innocent and youthful look. Always check the ID of a girl whose age you question. It's best not to interact with underaged girls. Check the laws on this issue.
It's also smart if you have your Pinay girlfriend get the "local Filipino dental price" ...without you standing around. Sit in the mall out of sight. Once your girlfriend returns with a price then return to the dentist and pay the dentist fee if you agree with the price. Most likely you will have to pay cash since credit cards are not always welcome in the Philippines.
Find a good dentist and sit in the mall. Send your girlfriend into the dentist with a predetermined set price you figured out to negotiate. Tell your girlfriend you will reward her with money if he saves you money. This builds teamwork and trust between both of you. Chances are if you try to get her braces as a foreigner...then you will get the "Foreigner price". It's not the smartest strategy. This is just another example of how having a girlfriend in the Philippines can help you save money.
